The Walton & Sons Masonry Apprenticeship Program is a state certified training program registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations Division of Apprenticeship Standards.

Our program is an intensive, four-year, in-house, open shop program designed to produce masons for the future, teaching all aspects of the trade.  We provide our students with comprehensive knowledge of the full range of masonry, with particular attention being paid to the complexities and trade secrets of the craft.  Instruction begins with basic masonry skills, progresses to advanced skills, and includes specialized aspects of the trade.  Our goal is to develop not only seasoned journey level masons, but also to develop a pool of individuals from which to draw the foremen, estimators, and project managers for the future.  Throughout the entire four years of the program, heavy emphasis is placed upon the precision, craftsmanship, and artistry of the trade.

Prerequisites for our apprenticeship program include:   a high school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in the field of masonry, usually as a hodcarrier, or mason's assistant.
