VENEER
Veneer refers to decorative masonry placed
on the facade of buildings, walls and pilasters. Materials used
are generally brick or stone which may cover CMU block. Sometimes
brick and stone are combined to create decorative facades, and
the use of mortar also affects the finished result. Brick can
be laid in a variety of bonds or patterns, and stone may be natural
field placed randomly or cut stone laid in an Ashlar bond. Dimensional
pre-cast stone is also used for veneer.
