Loggia, Lintels & Entablature

A lintel is a horizontal architectural member spanning and carrying the load above an opening.  An entablature is a horizontal part that rests on the columns and constitutes the architrave, frieze, and cornice.

A loggia is an architectural feature that refers to a gallery or corridor at ground level or sometimes higher.  A loggia is placed on the façade of a building and is open to the air on one side.  Columns support it or it has pierced openings in the wall.
